In KL, Penang, JB and KK Grab is reliable. In Langkawi, Melaka, smaller cities supply is thin during peak hours; surge can be 2-3x.

Taxis in KL occasionally refuse meter and quote flat fares (often inflated). Insist on meter or use Grab.
